Isac getting beat by a girl

Isac is usually a good sport about "rough housing" with Emily. We have had a fair share of injuries, but most of the time he takes things easy on her when they wrestle. However, I am beginning to wonder if Emily needs to take it easy on HIM! What do you think?

What are we going to do with Emily?

After a fun-filled day at the zoo with Dawn-Dawn Emily was looking and smelling pretty icky.

Arin: "Emily, you are looking pretty sad!"
Emily: "I'm not sad, I'm HAPPY!"

Crazy girl!

Mack's got CrAzY SkiLls

Our big baby is finally mobile but with this new milestone Amy's life has become even more complicated. He is very proud of his new ability to get where he wants. He is kind of like a mini tornado, moving from place to place leaving a path of destruction in his wake. It is definitely time to baby proof and move things out of reach but I can't seem to keep up with him. We tried to upload a video of his gorilla scoot but were unsuccessful so this random cute picture will have to do!

Ten Years worth of ISAC

ISAC is 10 today!

Today is Isac's 10th birthday. Hello double digits! It is hard to believe that ten years have past since he arrived. Where does the time go and why do kids grow up so fast? He used to be my little curly headed baby boy and now he is this person that lives in my house that can be like a complete stranger at times! Don't get me wrong it's not always that way but watching your kids grow up is not easy. With Isac I learned how to be a mother (and I am still learning). We sometimes joke that he is our trial child...we are learning the ropes with him, working out all the kinks, and then we will hopefully do a better job with the next two! I think back to the day he was born, and can see what a blessing and sacrifice it has been to have him in my life. While the circumstances surrounding his birth were not exactly ideal, if I had it to do all over again I wouldn't change a thing. I can't imagine what life would be like without my GOOFY Isac around! He adds so much to our family and always makes things interesting and keeps us on our toes! He is a great big brother and it has been fun to watch him love Emily & Mack. I think with every child you have an idea or expectation of how they will be but I am learning that they are who they are and sometimes it's even better than what you had in mind. That is the case with Isac. I am grateful that Heavenly Father entrusted him to our care and I hope that we can do a sufficient job! Happy Birthday Isac!! We love you! Now let's CELEBRATE!!

Let's go fly a kite!

Monday was a beautiful, windy spring day so we decided to walk to the park and fly kites. We took Isac's BF Isaac B. and everyone had a great time.
Kites were flown.

Well kind of...(click on this photo to see Emily's expression)

There, that's better.

Treasures were found.

Hair was blown.

And smiles were had by ALL!

The BIG 2-9

Today is Ryan's 29th Birthday!!! Unfortunately it's not going to seem like much of a birthday to him. Since it is the end of the semester he has several projects for school that he is working on today and tonight is inventory at his store, where a company comes in after the store is closed and counts all of the frames, etc. As the manager he is required to be there late into the night so he won't really have a chance to celebrate today. This is really a bummer, especially after the amazing birthday getaway that he arranged for me in February.

Food for Thought

Check out these pictures of families around the world - what they eat in 1 week and how much it costs... (As seen on White Skinned Goddess) I found it to be very interesting, especially with the rising cost of food. I wish I had the motivation to take a photo of The Harvey Family's weekly food consumption. I wonder what some of these families make with their food, it looks like they would have to be pretty creative or something. Lately our food storage situation has been on my mind alot and high on my priority list so if anyone has helpful ideas or knows affordable ways to stock up I would love to hear about them!!

Germany: The Melander family of Bargteheide
Food expenditure for one week: $500.07

United States: The Revis family of North Carolina
Food expenditure for one week: $341.98

Italy: The Manzo family of Sicily
Food expenditure for one week: $260.11

Mexico: The Casales family of Cuernavaca
Food expenditure for one week: $189.09

Poland: The Sobczynscy family of Konstancin-Jeziorna
Food expenditure for one week: $151.27

Egypt: The Ahmed family of Cairo
Food expenditure for one week: $68.53

Ecuador: The Ayme family of Tingo
Food expenditure for one week: $31.55

Bhutan: The Namgay family of Shingkhey Village
Food expenditure for one week: $5.03

Chad: The Aboubakar family of Breidjing Camp
Food expenditure for one week: $1.23

Did anyone else notice that in several of the photos the family's size increased but the amount of food & the cost decreased?

Ryan's fun getaway

I am a little behind posting this, but Ryan went on an "in-law" biking trip to Fruita, CO over Easter weekend. Everyone had fun and they plan to make it a yearly tradition. While they were gone all of the sisters and kids got together for a sleepover at Arin's house. It was so crazy, no one took any pictures but we did manage to get the Easter eggs dyed. I am not sure we want to make the group sleepover a tradition. I like my own bed!

Old McEmily had a farm...

Lately Emily has been obsessed with wearing overalls. Every morning when we're getting dressed she says "I want to be a farmer." She was wearing them on Easter when everyone was together and she told my mom she was a farmer. My mom asked her what kind of farmer she was and what she grew. Her response..."I grow babies."
