Mack's 1st Haircut

Before
After
What a Handsome Guy!!
I am about 2 weeks late on posting this, but Mack got his 1st haircut the day before his birthday. I have a hard time getting my babies haircut before they turn 1. I know it's weird, because they look so scraggily, but a fresh haircut make kids look so grown up, so it's my own twisted way of keeping them babies longer. But once they have a new do I find myself even more in love than I was before! Isn't he the cutest.

Ogden Dinosaur Park

Isac is obsessed with all things dinosaurs right now and has been bugging me about taking him to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden since school ended. There just never seemed to be a convenient day, so I kept blowing him off. Well I guess you could say he decided to take matters into his own hands. I wasn't planning to go until I got a call around 8:30 p.m. from Isaac B.'s mom. She was just wondering what time she should send Isaac B. over in the morning, how much it cost to get in, and if he needed a lunch. How could I say no now. I am not sure that Isac even realized how easy his plan of inviting a friend would work, but it did. I took them and everyone had a great time. If you haven't ever been you should check it out, and if you have you should go again before it gets any hotter!

Emily loves to tag along with the boys. For awhile I think she thought all boys in this age range were named Isaac.

Mack is always just happy to go along on our adventures.

It took 3 years,

but we finally had our "garage sale" this weekend! Now, 3+ years of hoarding later, one long day of our kids spending quality time with Grandma so we could get things together, and a full truckload trip to the DI, we are $450 richer and can actually open our garage without being super embarrassed at how full of crap it is. What a glorious feeling. Now what else do I have in the house I could live without...

I once was lost, but now I'm found...

...our ipod that is! It was stolen out of our car a few months ago. We filed a police report just incase it turned up in a pawn shop, but we did not expect to ever get it back. I was so bummed, especially because it makes working at 4 a.m. a little more pleasant. I am usually pretty accepting and forgiving of people who make bad choices or live different lifestyles, however I can not stand when people take things that don't belong to them. Thanks to my dad and a grocery store clerk, I learned at an early age that stealing is not ok. Since then our family home has be broken into more than once and I have had several things taken from me. I don't like thieves. So now fast forward to this morning. We received a call from a detective who found our ipod in a pawnshop! He brought it right over. It was missing the headphones, cover, and car adapter, but it came back to us! Great work Mr. Detective! Remember to remove valuables from your car and lock your doors, even if you think we live in a "safe" area. The officer said that this individual was going up and down streets at night looking for unlocked cars. He also said that criminals target this area particularly because people are too trusting. No more unlocked doors at the Harvey House! We are locking up and celebrating the return of an old friend.

Mack's 1st Birthday

Has it already been a year? Is my baby boy really a toddler now. It has been a fun-filled day of celebrating and I think I am more exhausted today, than I was this time last year, after delivering a baby!! I will post in more detail tomorrow about our special guy Mack!

Emily's Birthday

Today our baby girl turns 3!!! She is growing up so fast. Looking through her baby pictures and talking aobut the day she was born has brought back so many happy memories that seem like they happened so long ago. I still remember being terrified when I found out we were having a girl. Why didn't anyone ever tell me little girls were so much fun. I love having a daughter and with our house full of boys, the two of us have to stick together! So for in honor of her 3rd birthday I thought it would be quick to list 3 things about our little Emily:

1. Emily is a total Daddy's Girl. She LOVES her daddy. If she wakes up at night, she cries for Daddy, she wants Daddy to put her shoes on, she wants Daddy to hold her, she wants Daddy to pour her milk, the list could go on and on. At times this can be very annoying, but in reality it's nice to get a break and I am glad that she has a daddy that is so worthy of her affection.

2. Emily is 50% girly girl, 50% tomboy. She loves to paint her nails, dance, & wear lip gloss. But then she wants to do whatever Isac is doing. She loves to play in the dirt, fight with swords, & watch Toy Story. I think she will definitely be our toughest, most determined, try anything child. I hope she continues to be so balanced and willing to try to new things throughout her life.

3. Emily is really smart. I don't say this to brag because it has nothing to do with anything I have done. I know there are many children out there that can do things she can't, but as her mother, I am constantly amazed at the things that she knows. She already knows all of the letters & and the sounds they make (thank you PBS Kids). She can spell her name. Give the girl a pencil and paper and she is good to go for awhile. I am grateful that she loves learning new things and I hope she carries that with her always.

Emmy you are such a pleasure to have in our home and family. Thank you for being you and for choosing us to share your life with. We love you and hope you have a Happy Birthday and an exciting 3rd year!!!

Emily's New Do

I finally gave up on Emily having long hair. I have wanted her to have a cute bob her whole toddler life, but because of the funky baby-hair "curl", it just couldn't happen. So I have let it grow, trimmed it, let it grow, trimmed it, etc. for the past three years thinking that eventually it would straighten out. I decided in honor of her 3rd birthday I would have Jen cute it off. Well we did it this week and it is ADORABLE. She looks like a completely different, grown-up little girl. She has been really excited about having short hair "...like Dawn-Dawn." and I am hoping that it will be easier to manage. So far, so good...what do you guys think...

Kicking off Summer 2008

So Friday was the last day of school for Isac!! Where does the time go? We have been counting down the days, so to celebrate we went to get our 1st snow cones of the year!! We had a fun walk too.

We LOVE snow cones!!!

Emily loves to be just like the boys with her new scooter. (Early b-day present)

Thank goodness Mack is so easy going...give him a few books & he is good to go for at least 2.5 miles.
We are looking forward to a fun-filled summer. Isac helped me make a list of things we wanted to do. If anyone has any good ideas of places to visit, things to do, or ways to keep the peace between a 3yr. old & a 10yr. old I would love to hear them!! But for now we're off to do something FUN!!
